Slightly elevated arsenic levels in the Waikato River

Slightly elevated levels of arsenic have been detected in the Waikato River, which is drawn on for water supplies in the Hamilton area. Drinking water with slightly elevated levels for a short period of time is unlikely to impact people’s health. You do not need to boil your drinking water. It is safe to drink.
